While FlexElement high-performance couplings are designed to never fail, over time and when subjected to unusual operating conditions, a coupling may begin to show signs of wear. Our coupling refurbishment process erases those signs of use and restores the coupling assembly to its like-new condition. At a fraction of the cost of replacement, this rebuild procedure provides peace of mind and continued reliable operation.
A typical refurbishment will include the following steps:
- Skim grinding of bores, as needed
- Replacement of missing parts
- Replacement of flexible elements and bushings, as needed
- Replacement of hardware, including adjustment shims, bolts, nuts, and washers
- Dynamic balancing of individual components and subassemblies
- Coupling assembly to original specifications with match marking
- Final assembly balance per API 671 methodology
- Anti-corrosion treatment and packaging
Repair work commences immediately with receipt of customer purchase order and is typically completed within 10-14 days.
